Justin Trudeau responded yesterday to Russian moves in the Donbass with the announcement of the deployment of more Canadian troops to Latvia and a tranche of sanctions on Russian parlimentarians.
“Canada and our allies will defend democracy. We are taking these actions today to stand against authoritarianism,” Trudeau said. “The people of Ukraine, like all people, must be free to determine their own future.”
All of this said, incentally, without a trace of irony.
Maybe he’ll send some of those mounties over to the the LDNR, but the Russian front line ain’t no old women.
